| Rescue Report on disabled ship. |
|
Our linethrowers are essential for the Norwegian Life Saving Society. Here is a typical report from a situation where the PLT has been used for rescue: Report of assistance From Rescue Ship R/S Ragni Berg R/S was on its way out the fjord from Trondheim when it was called on emergency channel 16 from Floro Radio that reports a boat with engine stop drifting against shore. Called the boat and got their position which was 4 Nautical miles from R/S. When reaching the disabled ship at 17.45 it is drifting close to land with two anchors out. R/S unable to get closer than 150 meters and tries the shorter throwing line without reaching the ship. The disabled ship reports that they feel the rocks banging underneath the hull of the ship. R/S has then already prepared the PLT with the Rescue 230 projectile. It launches over to the disables ship with a perfect hit. Ties the tug rope to the projectile line and the disabled ship pulls the line towards them and onboard. After fastening the tug rope the disabled ship is pulled out to deep water and in turn in to harbors. Onboard were 2 adults and 2 children. Both their propellers were ruined.
