Basic types of PLT^® devices

The PLT^® has two main devices, the BIG and the MINI. Both devices can be used for rescue and as a working tool. It is only the BIG model, Rescue 230, which meets the regulation of SOLAS 74/83 with a shooting range min. 230 meters.   

1. The BIG model which is mainly suited for large vessels that either has to comply with IMO/SOLAS regulation or is in need of a powerful working tool. Read more about the shooting range for the BIG model here: 
   
   The BIG model consist of 4 different types. The Rescue 230, Rescue 125, Mooring 150 and the Mooring 75. All the BIG models have the same Base Unit, air cylinder and chamber, but different launching tubes or projectiles.

2. The PLT^® MINI is a handy line throwing device with several projectile options. It can be operated either with CO₂ or compressed air. It is used by smaller boats such as Marine Harbour Police and for special purposes. The Visby class in Sweden uses this as a standard Mooring device. We have a black version of this device too, which is used for Special Forces for entering constructions. Can not be heat traced and can be transported under water ready for use. The PLT^® Mini model is mainly suited for patrol vessels and other medium ranged operations.
